My Favorite Christmas Shirt

Yesterday I dug out my Christmas shirts. My favorite is one that I made several years ago with fabric applique and buttons. It'sthe cutest Santa with a reindeer and tree. The tree is adorned with buttons and I've also sewn snowflake buttons around the entire shirt with little present buttons under the tree. The sign near the reindeer says Reindeer Crossing.

As I'm sitting here writing this - wearing this same sweatshirt - it's come to me that whenever it is this shirt has seen it's day - I don't believe that I could ever just get rid of it! I'm sure that I'll bring it back to life as an applique on another shirt or a bag.

It's not that this ten year old shirt is just so comfortable and cute, it's the memories that make me happy when I wear it. It's my favorite Chrismtas Shirt!

My First Blog Entry!

It's two days before Thanksgiving and, of course, Mom (me!)cooks a big dinner. The only problem is that we are redoing our kitchen and I currently don't have one! So, we will be heading up to a little cabin we have in Vermont that does have a kitchen. I've already done all the shopping and bringing everything along with me so I can get right to work! I'm actually looking forward to having the family in our little cabin with the fireplace going, some nice scented candles burning, and all the wonderful aromas that come with the making of Thanksgiving dinner.
